Marsh appoints Kansas City office head

Marsh, an insurance broker and risk advisor, has appointed Mike Kern as its new Kansas City, Missouri, office head.

In his new role, Kern will oversee all the operations in Marsh's Kansas City office and will be responsible for growing and retaining business in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.

Kern has over 20 years of insurance brokerage and underwriting experience. He will join Marsh from Arthur J Gallagher & Co, where he most recently served as area executive vice president in Wisconsin.

Prior to Gallagher in 2008, Kern worked at Wausau Insurance Companies and then Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Marsh managing director and central partnership leader Daniel Deighton said Mike's proven skills in sales and sales management will be incredibly valuable to Marsh as the company look to continue to grow the business in Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska.

Marsh has over 24,000 employees and provides advice and transactional capabilities to clients in more than 100 countries.

Marsh is a member of Marsh & McLennan Companies, a professional services firm with over 50,000 employees worldwide and annual revenue of $10bn, which is also the parent company of Guy Carpenter, the risk and reinsurance specialist.
