Hub International buys Marrs Maddocks & Associates Insurance Services

IBR Staff Writer Published 07 October 2014

US-based insurance brokerage firm Hub International has acquired assets of Marrs Maddocks & Associates Insurance Services (MM&A), for an undisclosed amount.

Based in California, MM&A offers property and casualty, personal lines and employee benefits brokerage services in the San Diego region.

MM&A, which is led by Richard and Daniel Marrs, and Nancy Maddocks, will be included in the California operations of Hub International Insurance Services (Hub California).

Mike Barone added: "As Hub continues to grow organically and through acquisitions, we are frequently evaluating potential acquisitions. A strategic element of that evaluation is the culture of the acquiree.

"While MM&A's solutions - P&C, personal and employee benefits -- were in line with Hub's, more importantly its culture, approach to best practices and standards were a perfect fit for us."

All three principals, along with their staff will join Hub California, and will carry out operations through existing office location.

The operations of MM&A will be reported to Hub International employee benefits national president Mike Barone.

Hub provides property and casualty, life and health, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services in the US Canada and Latin America.
