IBR Staff Writer Published 01 May 2013

Confie Seguros, a personal lines insurance provider, has acquired Capital Insurance Agency of Trenton for an undisclosed sum, in a bid to boost its existing operations in New Jersey.

Operating since 1935, Capital Insurance specializes in personal insurance lines, as well as commercial insurance.

Commenting on the acquisition, Confie Seguros CEO Joe Waked said that Capital Insurance as well as Jayla Insurance Agency will strengthen its operational capabilities in the region.

The company has recently added Jayla as a fold-in acquisition for its Paterson office.

Around 22 companies were purchased by Confie in 2012, while four firms have been acquired to date, with plans to carry out further deals during the second half of 2013.

Founded in 2008 and based in California, Confie Seguros operates as an insurance distribution company mainly focused on the needs of Hispanic consumers and has created a national portfolio of regional auto insurance brokerages.

The company operates in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Washington, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, and Nevada and expects to continue its expansion in those and other states, including Illinois, Georgia, and the Carolinas.
