Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. buys retail insurance agency The Forker

US-based insurance brokerage and risk management services firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (AJG) has acquired Illinois-based The Forker Company, for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 2000, Forker is a retail insurance agency, which provides contract surety solutions to clients in the Midwest.

The company is specialized in providing surety coverage for the construction industry.

Under the leadership of Gallagher's Midwest region retail property/casualty brokerage operation head Michael Pesch, Peter Forker and his associates will continue to run operations.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. chairman, president and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., said: "Forker's team is well known for their industry experience and solid market relationships.
