Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. buys Besselman & Little Agency

Insurance brokerage firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Besselman & Little Agency, a provider of insurance brokerage services.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Besselman & Little Agency, founded in 1986, provides a range of employee benefit consultation services for their corporate, executive and individual clients throughout the southern US.

It specializes in medical insurance, life insurance, short-and long-term disability income, retirement plans and pension plans.

As part of the acquisition, Besselman & Little Agency founder Tom Besselman and his associates will continue to operate in their current location.

They will work under the direction of John Neumaier, South Central Regional Executive Vice President of Gallagher's employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.

Arthur J. Gallagher chairman, president and CEO Patrick Gallagher said that the company's newest colleagues will help the it continue its expansion into the Louisiana market and will be a great complement to our employee benefits operation.
