The ACE Group has appointed Andrew McBride as the new executive vice president for Claims, for its international businesses, with immediate effect.

McBride, who will be based in New York, will report to ACE Limited vice chairman and chief operating officer and ACE Overseas General chairman John Keogh, and ACE Group chief claims officer Frank Lattal.

McBride will oversee the company's claims operations supporting its property and casualty and accident and health insurance businesses in 50 nations in the Asia Pacific and Japan, Latin America and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.

The company also named Peter Murray, who currently leads the claims organisation for ACE's EMEA region, as the casualty claims executive for the company's international operations.

In his additional role, Murray will work with regional claims management to create and manage strategies to handle major casualty, professional lines and other third-party liability claims.

Prior to joining ACE, McBride served as claims director for QBE's European Operations since 2005.

McBride also worked with Aon, as director and head of claims management, and also held senior claims and operations positions with the AXA and Guardian Royal Exchange Groups.

Murray recently served as claims director for ACE's EMEA operations and senior vice president, claims for ACE's international operations.
