ACE announces senior management promotions in Germanic region

ACE Group has announced two senior management promotions within its Germanic region, as part of plans to expand its business and market relationships across Continental Europe.

Dankwart von Schultzendorff has been promoted from country president to Germanic region chairman, and will continue to report to Continental Europe regional president Joseph Clabby.

Based in Hamburg, Schultzendorff will be responsible for maintaining and further developing ACE's relationships with clients and brokers such as communication of the firm's capabilities and risk appetite, and the development of its customer proposition, in his new role.

In addition to acting as ACE's principal representative for major industry forums and associations in the region, Schultzendorff will also provide leadership and strategic direction for the company's global client executives' team based in the region.

With 23 years of insurance industry experience, Schultzendorff served a number of German insurance companies with responsibility for commercial and industrial insurance prior to joining ACE.

The company has also promoted Andreas Wania from chief operating officer to country president, Germany.

Wania, in his new role, will be responsible for all aspects of the country's operations which include setting strategy and direction, managing financial performance and delivering profitable growth and will report to Joseph Clabby.

Based in Frankfurt, Wania will also have full management responsibility for the ACE team in Germany in addition to retaining current responsibility for business in Turkey, supported by country president Ebru Gurtan and her team in Istanbul.

With almost 20 years of insurance industry experience, Wania served at Allianz Group and FM Global in Germany and Russia.

Effective from 08 April 2013, the promotions are subject to regulatory approval.
